Tasco Turquoise with White Coves and Turquoise Interior
In 1960 the Chevrolet reworked the Corvette in an effort to make it into a performance-centered car. It was taken from a boulevard cruiser in its earlier years to a more track-oriented performance automobile. This particular car is a matching numbers example finished in Tasco Turquoise with a matching turquoise interior with white cove and soft top. The 283 cubic inch engine with solid lifter high performance cam and dual quads puts out 270 hp. The engine was produced 10/1/59 and the car was assembled in October 1959, as the 507th Corvette made in the 1960 model year.
In 1997 the car was fully restored and awarded the prestigious Top Flight award by the National Corvette Restorers Society, their highest accolade. In 2006 approximately $25,000 was spent to freshen the restoration and the car remains cosmetically excellent and very sound mechanically having travelled less than a 1000 miles since then. The indicated milage is 83,840 which is assumed to be correct based on the service records which date to 1997. In addition to the 270hp engine it is equipped with with 4-speed manual transmission, power windows, and WonderBar radio.
The car currently has new radial tires on new wheels but the Goodyear wide white wall tires on color coded wheels are included. This is a very tight, great handling 1960 Corvette that can be shown or taken on trips and driven for pleasure.
